NEPTUNE SUBSTATION & BESS
COMPLETION:
August 2022
CLIENT:
Brink Constructors, Inc / NextEra Energy
PROJECT SCOPE:
Neptune Substation and BESS yard were inclusive of all underground utilities, regrading, and placement of surfacing material. Within the substation, we were responsible for the installation of the grounding grid, conduit, cable trench, regrading of the site, and placing surface rock. On the BESS yard, we installed 3,036 LF of cable trench, regraded the site, and placed the surface rock. Some of the conduit runs included flow fill, backfill, and jigs with multiple runs tying into the control building. Our crew custom bent conduit onsite to complete the conduit runs within the substation.
YOUNG SUBSTATION
COMPLETION:
December 2022
CLIENT:
Brink Constructors, Inc / NextEra Energy
PROJECT SCOPE:
Spriggs Excavation completed the civil scope for the Young Substation which serviced the wind farm. The condition of the earth was tough as it was all rock. We had to blast the pad and sub-excavate six feet of blasted rock, the rock was then run through a crusher and the material was placed back into the pad. We also installed the ground grid before we completed our final lift of crushed material. Spriggs’ scope included the stormwater pipe around the pad and french drains as well.
